A singer and musician native to Chicago, Dolan's music career is taking off, and you don't want to be the one in your friend group who hasn't heard his music yet! Formerly a member of band The Proof, he is now launching his solo career as an independent artist, which has consisted of four singles thus far: "7 Plus 3," "Company" and "Bad Reputation," and "That Tree."

"Bad Reputation" is one of his latest singles, released in March 2019, and is already his most popular on Spotify and his personal favorite! This single is a melting pot of funk, blues, and soulful vocals with strong mainstream potential. It will be included on his upcoming EP "I'll Go Mine," which is his first solo project (not under a band name).

"The title represents breaking off, going your own way and is making reference to the saying “You go your way, I’ll go mine...,”" Dolan explained to us.

When asked about his upcoming EP, he disclosed that "the five songs vary from funky, light-hearted party grooves to anecdotal story-telling of past events to personal and existential letting go. The overall goal or theme behind all of this music is to hopefully inspire people to just keep going, even if it means going on alone."

His musical inspirations are clear in his music, ranging from Dr. John, Ray Charles, The Allman Brothers and more.

Dolan also performed at 2019's Chinook Festival in Yakima, Washington.

His newest single, "That Tree" was just released in September 2020 and it is definitely one of our favorite songs released this year! We asked the rocker what inspired the ballad.

"“That Tree” is a song that came from heart break and loss. I wrote it a long time ago. I was a traveler for a long time (me and my dog hitch-hiked and drifted for years) and this song kind of helped me make sense of what was going on in my life and what cast me out on the road in the first place," he shared.

"This song came to me when I was visiting home; playing the piano from my childhood and looking out the window when I thought about how lucky that old tree outside was, because it couldn’t feel what I was feeling. And then I kept going and learned how to be like that tree."

Everyone can relate to Drew's song in one way or another, and the emotion hits you like a tree branch as soon as it begins.

We can't wait to see what other music the rockin' musician releases soon! Head to his Spotify to hear his hot new singles and his Youtube channel to listen to his cover of "Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do." Click the links below to follow him!
