"Do the Hit," your newest release, has already garnered over 250k views/listens. Can you walk us through the creative process behind this song, and what message or vibe were you aiming to convey with it?
"The song is at 1 million views already and WOW! That's amazing! It's like, super exciting because it means people really like the song! So, the song started with my mom writing the words, and then Poobear, he's awesome, he saw them and was like, "Hey, 'The Hit' sounds like a dance!" And that's when everything clicked! We were all about dancing, and when we recorded the song, I just started moving to the beat, doing these cool dance moves. And ta-da! "Do the Hit Dance" was born! It's all about feeling the music and letting it make you dance! And the vibe it's all about dancing and just feeling good! It's like spreading happy vibes everywhere!"
Your recent single, "Happy Emoji," has gained significant traction with almost 1 million views on YouTube. What inspired this song, and how do you feel about its reception by your fans?
""Happy Emoji" is like, so much fun! It's like half in English and half in Spanish, and seriously, who doesn't know what a happy emoji is, right? Everyone does! So, that's what inspired me to make this song! And oh my gosh, the reception from my fans has been awesome! I know I've got lots of fans from Latin America, and I love bringing that Latin flavor to them. But you know what's the best part? Seeing all the little kids dancing and singing along to "Happy Emoji"! It just makes my heart melt!"
Your performance at the 2022 Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship event received widespread acclaim for your stage presence and energy. Could you share with us how you prepare for such large-scale performances, and what goes through your mind when you step onto the stage?
"So, getting ready for big shows like the Skechers event is like, super important! I think being prepared is the key to being a great artist. Even if you know your songs and dances, practicing is a must! So, before the Skechers event, I had lots and lots of rehearsals. And get this, it was my first time singing a cover song! I picked Taylor Swift's "Shake it off" because it's a song everyone knows, and I practiced with my dancers in LA.
When I step onto the stage, it's like, all about having fun! I just let loose and enjoy every moment. It's like, the best feeling ever to perform for all those people and see them having a good time!"
You've been featured on various media outlets and shows, including "The Ellen Show" with Mario López. How do you handle the pressure of being in the spotlight, and what have been some of your most memorable experiences from these appearances?
"Being in the spotlight is like, so exciting! I don't really feel pressure 'cause I just be myself and have fun with it. I get super excited! Like, when I was on "The Ellen Show," I had five interviews before the big day, so I was totally ready when the show aired!
I've learned that it's okay to make mistakes and just be real. Like, no matter what happens, I'm always gonna be me! And that's what's important. Being authentic is like, the best thing ever!"
As a young performer, what advice would you give to other aspiring singers and dancers who are looking to make a name for themselves in the entertainment industry, especially through social media platforms?
"Here's what I'd say: It's not about being better than anyone else, it's about being true to yourself and working hard to get better every day. If you practice and stay true to who you are, you can totally do anything you set your heart on! Social media is like, the perfect way to show off your talents and get noticed. So, don't be afraid to put yourself out there and shine!"
