Gale Brophy Breaks Silence, Steps Back From ‘Members Only Palm Beach’ Drama

Netflix’s glossy new reality series Members Only: Palm Beach may be all about wealth, power, and social climbing, but behind the scenes, things are getting a little less polished.

Gale Brophy, the Palm Beach society veteran and unexpected breakout star of the series, has issued a lengthy Instagram statement addressing the off-screen drama that has followed the show’s December debut and making it clear she’s stepping back from fueling any further speculation.

Since the series dropped, Gale has emerged as a fan favorite despite being positioned as more of a supporting figure. Viewers watched her mentor cast member Rosalyn Yellin on navigating elite social circles, while also holding her own during tense moments, including a memorable confrontation with property developer Hilary Musser, who questioned Gale’s authenticity as a Palm Beach “Grande Dame.” Gale famously shut that down by producing a stack of magazine covers featuring herself.

But the real-life drama escalated following reports of a feud between Gale and co-star Taja Abitbol. The alleged incident reportedly took place at Taja’s premiere party for the Netflix show, where Gale claims she was asked to leave. Gale later alleged she was handled “roughly” during her exit and firmly denied rumors that she had been intoxicated at the event.

Now, Gale is setting the record straight and drawing a boundary.

“Since the Members Only: Palm Beach premiere on Netflix, there’s been a lot of press — and not just about the show itself,” Gale began in her statement. “What I want to clarify is this: the narrative changed, and it wasn’t changed by me.”

She went on to note that multiple media outlets and eyewitnesses have questioned the original version of events, calling the situation a “rookie mistake” and suggesting the alleged attempt to ice her out may have backfired. Some commentators even speculated whether jealousy played a role.

“I didn’t come to compete for attention,” Gale wrote. “I showed up as myself — calm, respectful, and gracious. The cameras followed on their own. The press followed the facts. And the images spoke louder than any statement.”

Despite the mounting headlines, Gale made it clear she has no interest in escalating the situation further.

“I won’t engage in name-calling or drama. I don’t need to,” she concluded. “When the coverage, photos, and firsthand accounts all point in the same direction, the truth tends to reveal itself — and the public decides.”

With Members Only Palm Beach already delivering plenty of on-screen tension, it looks like Gale Brophy is choosing grace over gossip as she steps away from the chaos — and lets the receipts, and the audience, do the talking.
