Ricky Garcia is stepping into a brand-new role, and no, it’s not a movie.

The Forever In Your Mind and Best Friends Whenever alum revealed that he and his wife, Alli Nadine, are expecting their first child together, but not before sending fans into a full-blown frenzy with a very convincing (and very fake) Hollywood announcement.

Garcia first broke the news by sharing what appeared to be a Deadline-style article, complete with industry lingo and a headline that read: “Ricky Garcia Lands Leading Role in Exciting Drama ‘The Father’ — Summer 2026!” The post was paired with the caption, “my greatest role yet,” and even listed the authors as Ricky and Alli themselves.

The mock article detailed Garcia’s career journey before teasing that this “new role” marked a major turning point — which, naturally, had fans believing he’d just landed a serious film or TV project titled The Father. Oops. See below from Instagram.

It didn’t take long for the confusion to set in, and Ricky clearly noticed. He later posted a video laughing as he clarified that the “announcement” wasn’t about a movie at all; it was their baby announcement. Cue the collective “OH!” from fans everywhere (and me, to be honest).

The couple also shared sweet footage from Christmas morning, showing their family reacting to the news and revealing sonogram photos, officially confirming that a baby Garcia is on the way.

Safe to say, Ricky may have accidentally fooled half the internet, but fans ultimately loved the creative (and chaotic) reveal. One thing’s for sure: The Father is already his most important role yet.
