GRAMMYs 2020: Best and Worst Dressed

The 62nd annual GRAMMY awards show premiered tonight, Sunday, Jan. 26 on CBS with heavy hearts due to the passing of Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant and his daughter GiGi. Because the GRAMMYs were hosted in the home of the NBA team, the Staples Center, there were so many people outside the stadium mourning the loss of a legend. The Recording Academy also organized a pre-show moment of silence (not televised), as well as a tribute during the show.

In honor of Kobe's incredible style, we're highlighting the best dressed of the GRAMMYs held in the legend's home court tonight. Sadly, overall, the looks were less than impressive, but a few hit it out of the park!

Ariana Grande

Maybe God is a Woman? The pop star is nominated for multiple awards, and came dressed to WIN! A stunning and unique color by Giambattista Valli, the 'Thank U, Next' singer WOWed everyone and officially wins KB's title of Best Dressed.

Lizzo

The Best New Artist nominee looked angelic and flawless in a white gown dripping in diamonds. Her GRAMMY debut could not have looked any better! She even showed up inside after her electric performance in a gorgeous black gown.

Jameela Jamil and James Blake

The couple looked ravishing in blue and black on the red carpet. It's nice they didn't totally match, but they still did... if that makes sense.

Ben Platt

Ben definitely wins Best Dressed for the guys tonight. It's simple with a hint of style to help show off his quirky personality!

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

The Best Dressed couple award goes to... duh! Did you really think they were going to show up not looking flawless? Also, Mr. Legend is giving Ben Platt a run for his money!

Those looks were a KNOCKOUT! Sadly though, there were many looks that missed the mark...

Billy Porter

Okay normally Billy knocks it out of the park but this just didn't do it for us. It's too 'in the middle' of being eccentric and plain. Sia, is that you?

Joy Villa

Joy... this is getting old. At least pick a good-looking outfit.

Megan Pormer

We're not totally against outfits with political messaging, this ain't it, Megan. To be honest, we have never even heard of you. Oh well.

Tyler the Creator

No. Honestly, he tries way too hard in every facet of his career to be "different" and this just made it even worse. Sorry not sorry, Pepto Bismol bellhop.

Nick and Joe Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, and Sophie Turner

Lord, this is bad. Priyanka is wearing a huge blanket making her look way wider than she is (ever heard of tailoring?), Joe and Nick look plain and lackluster, and Sophie's dress isn't even a good length for her, and overall not the right looks for the GRAMMYs. On the bright side, the Jo Bros looks phenomenal on stage performing their new single "What a Man Gotta Do."

This is 2020 people, step it up!!!! There were SO many celebrities missing who would have came to serve -- Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, GiGi Hadid, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and more. But alas, maybe next time.
